Welcome to COMMUNIIIT-Y. By accessing or using our platform at communiiity.in, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before using the Platform.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Communiiity, a student community platform based at NIT Trichy, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Platform.
Your use of this Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering an account, accessing, or using any part of the Platform, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age (or 16 in the EU/UK), have read and understood these Terms, have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement, and will comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
2. Use of the Platform
Permitted Use
You may use the Platform solely for lawful, personal, and non-commercial purposes. Communiiity is designed to facilitate connections, discussions, and collaboration within the student community.
Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to post unlawful, harassing, or abusive content; impersonate any person or entity; send unsolicited communications; attempt unauthorized access to any part of the Platform; scrape or extract data using automated tools; upload viruses or malicious code; or violate any intellectual property rights.
3. User Accounts
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
- Maintain the security of your password and account credentials
- Promptly notify us at jcommuniiity@gmail.com of any unauthorized use
- Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or contain false information.
4. User-Generated Content
Your Content
By posting content on the Platform, you represent that you own or have the necessary rights to that content and that it does not violate any third-party rights or applicable law.
Licence to Communiiity
By submitting content, you grant Communiiity a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute such content in connection with operating and improving the Platform.
Content Removal
We reserve the right to remove any content at our sole discretion, without prior notice, if we believe it violates these Terms or applicable law.
5. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform — including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software — is the property of Communiiity or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any content from the Platform without our prior written consent.
6. Third-Party Links and Advertising
The Platform may display third-party advertisements and contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party advertisers or websites. Clicking on any advertisement or external link is at your own risk.
7. Disclaimers
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any information obtained through the Platform will be accurate, or that defects will be corrected.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Communiiity and its founders, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability for any claims shall not exceed INR 1,000.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Communiiity and its founders from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses arising out of your use of the Platform, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform will immediately cease.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India. We encourage you to contact us first to resolve disputes informally.
12. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed severable and shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other policies posted on the Platform, constitute the entire agreement between you and Communiiity regarding your use of the Platform.
